About Seedlings

Instead of being a year-long program, Seedlings is broken into five six-week sessions that take place from mid-September to the end of May. This format allows families to try out a session to see if it works for their child without a long-term commitment. Families can choose to register their child(ren) for whole sessions or for individual classes, keeping the program flexible for busy schedules.

Each session revolves around a specific theme, which is revealed before registration for the session opens. Students follow a predictable daily routine and complete learning activities that tie back to that session's theme.

Caregivers remain on-site in the designated community areas during the class period, while the registered child joins their peers and the Maine-certified educator in the learning room. Caregivers and siblings who are not in the program are welcome to use the three additional classrooms, the library, and the materials located in the Study With ME KV educational center.

Seedlings activities are specially designed to be developmentally appropriate for children who are ages 3, 4, or 5 at the time a 6-week session begins. Each time slot accepts a total of 10 students. Because of our desire to provide something special for this age group and to allow registered children the chance to practice being independent, children who are older or younger than this age band when a session begins are to remain with the caregiver in the Study With ME KV community areas during class times.
